The Mediterranean

A little about me

I am an artist who generally works in acrylic and occasionally watercolour paintings of landscapes and wildlife. For landscapes I get lots of inspiration from local areas, however, my first love is Greece and many parts of the Mediterranean.

I love the vivid colours of the houses and boats of Greece and also the amazing light and beautiful shades from the Mediterranean which I try to reflect in my paintings. Cobolt Turqouise is my favourite colour in my palette!

I have always loved art and after studying for and working in Graphic and Web Design I now have more time to lose myself in the wonder of painting!

This local view is a favourite spot of mine along the river at Cookham. The light against the gate particularly fascinated me. I love light and shade – how they work together – and the many colours that can make them up!

Wildlife and animal charity donations

Where I can I donate some of my sale proceeds of orginal paintings, prints and greeting cards to nominated charities for animal and wildlife welfare.

Being a lover of Greece the welfare of stray cats in Greece is something close to my heart. I support the The Greek Cat Welfare Society who work tirelessly to help with neutering to control the population, feeding and medical care of the stray cats.

I have also recently created a painting of the Bali Myna Bird. These beautiful birds are critically endangered, facing both environmental and cultural challenges. The reference for my painting was from Birdworld in Surrey and I am very happy to donate a percentage of any sales to the Birdworld Conservation Fund.

I am hoping to create some more paintings relating to endangered species and contributing a little to related charities. For now this page shows more information on the paintings I have so far in support of charities.
